Logistec gains foothold in Port of Virginia
MONTREAL, Quebec: Logistec Corp’s US division, Logistec USA Inc, has purchased CrossGlobe Transport Ltd.
Newport News, Virginia-based CrossGlobe offers port logistics services for forest products, auto parts and other types of cargo moving through the Port of Virginia. It operates a cross-dock facility and offers services such as container stuffing and destuffing, and has warehousing and distribution locations along the US eastern seaboard.
“CrossGlobe’s operations are a natural fit to Logistec’s network of terminals as they extend not only our footprint to ports in Virginia, but also provide an increased scope of services to our industrial market,” said Madeleine Paquin, president and CEO of Logistec Corporation.
Logistec, which is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, offers break-bulk and cargo handling services in 24 ports across eastern Canada, the Great Lakes region, and the US east coast. It also offers marine transportation services for the Arctic coastal trade, short-line rail transportation services, and marine agency services to foreign shipowners and operators serving the Canadian market
