The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of proven sales experience on larger transactions, specifically selling to mechanical contractors and/or engineers in a technical manufacturing / process setting. A formal engineering qualification (Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering) or suitable experience is preferred. Past employment experience within one or more of magnetics, filtration and OEM equipment sales is preferred.

WILO AG offers pumps and pump systems for heating, cooling, air conditioning, water supply, and sewage disposal. It also offers accessories and spare parts. The company’s products are used in houses; commercial buildings, such as public buildings, office buildings, hospitals, hotels, and residential buildings; industrial applications; and municipal uses, including water supply, disposal, and preparation.
The ideal candidate will live in the GTA and possess a degree or certificate in mechanical engineering. Field experience will be considered in the absence of a university degree. The successful candidate must have a proven track record (5 years) in selling pumps, waste water systems, or components. Preference will be given to individuals with pump sales experience.

A Canadian citizen or landed immigrant, you must be free to travel up to 50% of the time and must be able to travel to the United States. Both a valid passport and drivers’ license with a clean record are imperative. The position’s responsibilities includes calling on municipalities and waste water treatment regions in Ontario, coordinating projects with mechanical contractors, and working with engineers to select pumps and solve pump issues. You must be comfortable in a board room as well as in a social environment – with technical buyers and end users.

The Food Processing Division invites applicants with proven expertise in the development and manufacture of processed meats and prepared meals to apply for the position of Product Development Scientist. The Food Processing Development Centre is responsible for assisting the Alberta food industry with product and process development and commercialization of new food products and processing technologies. The successful candidate will work as a member of the Food Processing Division to increase the capacity and competitiveness of the Agri-Food processing industry in Alberta.

This position will:

  • provide technical leadership to Alberta’s food processing industry with an emphasis on processed meats and prepared foods
  • work with food processors throughout the province, new entrepreneurs and companies looking to expand into Alberta, identifying opportunities and providing assistance to individual clients to realize those opportunities
  • initiate, design, conduct and direct food product and process development projects
  • evaluate potential for the adoption of new technologies by Alberta food processors to support the growth of value-added processing capacity and competitiveness in the province
  • help new processors to establish their businesses and existing processors to grow and remain competitive
  • maintain close liaison with Alberta’s food processing industry, its partners and its customers.

The successful candidate must have working knowledge of food microbiology, meat technology, food chemistry, sanitation, food handling, food safety, cross contamination and refrigeration. You will also need effective communication and listening skills to understand client needs and to effectively communicate with senior decision makers and R&D managers in the food processing industry. Excellent networking skills, as this position works intimately with national and international industry clients, research institutions and other government agencies are also required.

Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in a related field plus 4 years experience (or a Bachelor of Science plus 6 years) in product development in processed meats and prepared meals, including experience with production supervision in the food processing industry. Extensive experience in product formulation, thermal processing, packaging, and commercial manufacture of processed meats and prepared foods is also required. Equivalencies will be considered.
