The Centre for Excellence in Print Media at NorQuest College in Edmonton was the site of some spirited discussion on the topic of lean printing practices in early September as the Centre played host to a two-day workshop (September 8 and 9) entitled ‘Lean Printing: Pathways to Success’.

Led by California Polytechnic State University professors Kevin Cooper and Ken Macro, the educational event attracted 22 managers and print coordinators in total from the local Edmonton area as well as Calgary, Wainwright, Alberta and Ontario.

"This is the largest group we’ve presented to,” said Cooper. “We’ve taught this course in California, Colorado and Behran, and next month we’ll be in Amsterdam."

Sponsors of the Edmonton event included Coast Paper, Heidelberg Canada and Pitney Bowes.
